Ron Gester, MD
Ron is a retired geologist and emergency physician. He earned his degree in Geology from UC Davis in 1969. He then joined the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and worked on a variety of geophysical projects on the Atlantic coast, Antarctica, and Africa before going to medical school.
He obtained his MD from UC San Francisco in 1979 and practiced medicine at Ukiah Adventist Hospital’s Emergency Department where he helped start Pacific Redwood Medical Group. He oversaw ambulance services both in Ukiah and Anderson Valley for many years.
After retirement, he became active in promoting global-scale solutions to environmental and humanitarian problems especially climate change. His current focus is on increasing public understanding of nuclear energy and radiation biology. He joined the Board of Anderson Valley Health Clinic with hopes of contributing to its role in enhancing the quality of life in our community
