Susan Smith
Dr. Susan Smith completed her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, earned her medical degree from Northwestern Medical School, and completed her postdoctoral training at UCSF in Family Medicine.
Her intial post-training position was as Medical Director of Southeast Health Center in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. She next served as a family medicine clinician with the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group, During her tenure, she served as department chair of family medicine, division head of primary care and medical specialties, and regional medical director of the Palo Alto region.
She briefly served as interim Executive Director for the Anderson Valley Health Center, responsible for financial performance, operational efficiency, including quality, access, patient experience, and staff engagement.
Her most recent position was President of the Faculty Practice and Senior Vice President at UCSF Health, There, she managed the health system’s ambulatory faculty physician practices and was responsible for the performance and operations of the clinics. Areas of interest included oversight of access, quality, patient experience, finances, and staff and faculty experience. Smith has been retired for a year.
